About me

Thanks so much for stopping by! My name is Adlien (pronounced as Adelene)

I am 24,  with degree in Media and Communication and a life filled with experiences I’d like to call reality.

I am very visual and creative person with a passion for painting, singing , playing my guitar and the performing arts so ya, a very active mind. I’ve never really enjoyed reading or writing so much so for me to start blogging has really surprised me, well, I guess it’s all part of evolving and ‘growing up’. But I also guess, life for me, as a third cultured kid, really makes my life quiet a journey filled with adventures, learning to adapt and inspiration that I think it would be unfair for me to keep to myself.

But before I go on about myself, I would like to say that this blog is primarily where I share stories behind the paintings that I do  and videos that I make. What you see above is a recent painting of mine. I feel that the process of painting is an experience, a time to let inspiration run free like a wild horse……. well ok, i’ll stop with the drama now (:

I truly believe that :

• there is always good in the world and people will good heart really DO EXIST.
• you will always get what you are willing to give out.
• time is something that can heal anything, but with that in mind,if you are willing to look beyond the pain, you will see that time will give you all that you need, not only to survive but to THRIVE.
• life can be expressed through art, poetry, tears, hugs or just speaking out your mind at times.
• The hard times in life only make you stronger, not weaker, Better, not bitter only if you let is
• There is a Season for EVERYTHING!!

I value and cherish :

• my amazing and inspiring parents who I know for a fact is the main reason I am who I am today, my role model of a big sister I’d like to call ‘Queen’ (yea she’ll laugh when she sees this) and my amazing little brother who I really can’t call little anymore who I just LOVE hanging out with – my little dexter

• the friends, who I like to also call family in my life who are spread all over the world, who make life to rich and show me that there is still goodness in the world they inspire me to be all that I can be.
• this beautiful life I have been blessed with filled with life changing experiences each day!
• My Father up above who is the reason I do what I do and the reason why find this life so worth living and exciting!

I love

• People from different CULTURES!!!!!!!
• LONDON city and Europe- doing my degree there really made me fall in love with the architecture, the variety of people groups, culture and most of all SNOW. I guess growing up in Abu Dhabi really made me appreciate this more than my friends who found it quiet annoying
• playing my guitar and songwriting and ART
• coffee under the moonlight
• Aeroplane travels (and planes as well…. dont ask me why)

• Languages especially Spanish and Greek (ahhhhh)
• the fact that i could experience a variety of culture and meet amazing people in my life……. and food greek, french , KOREAN nad of course INDIAN!!!

• my little dog Jake (who can be annoying at times)

I think for me, the biggest inspiration for my art, poetry and music is LIFE, creation, the wonderful people I get to meet every day and of course silent observation. I am truly convinced that Life is so rich and full of lessons, inspiration and beauty. Above all there is a God up above who loves us and is ALWAYS looking out for the best in us. There are times when I think that this is inspiration enough for me. His love is unchanging. unending and unconditional.
